Little Things Make Up a Great Week

We had a lot of fun the last few days, especially the past two since Aaron was off. We mainly used his two days off to spend time together and relax, but we did have some fun! I made some Banana Split Cupcakes on Tuesday. They have some chopped maraschino cherries, bananas, and chocolate chips mixed into the batter. Aaron took some to work that night and everyone really liked them!

We took a dip in the pool Wednesday afternoon. We put Ashlyn in her little turtle floatie, as usual, and we sat at opposite ends of the pool. We started to push her back and forth. After just a couple of times, Ashlyn started to kick off of our hands herself. And when she was in the middle of the two of us, she would start kicking to keep going! We were so proud of her! While hanging around the house after our swim, Aaron looked over and saw Ali napping in a very strange, but very cute, position on the chair. He definitely had to take a picture! So he slowly and quietly walked over to the camera and took it over there. Thankfully she didn't wake up and he got this cute picture.

This afternoon we had to go to the hospital to get Ashlyn an immunization shot that they were out of. I guess there was a nationwide shortage. But they finally got some in. She was so good! She got the shot and gave a little pouty face, but that was it. No crying and not even a whimper! Afterwards, we went to go get some lunch at Taco Bell (for me) and KFC (for Aaron). They are in the same building, so that's what we usually do when we go and just share little bites of each other's stuff. After lunch, we stopped by the precinct to check our mail. My brother, Paul, and his wife, Carrie, were sweet enough to send some stuff for Ashlyn. One of the things they got her was a stuffed puffer fish that makes bubble sounds when you press its fin. We were all playing with it when we got home! When we gave it to Ashlyn, she loved it right away. She was picking it up, playing, and chewing on its eye. Poor fish didn't know what hit it!

This has been our week so far and it has been wonderful. Unfortunately, Aaron has to work this weekend. But instead of thinking of it as a long weekend of work ahead, tomorrow we will just say there is only 3 more days until a short work week! Have a wonderful evening!
